Lough Corrib Adventure Club
A school-holiday outdoor programme combining kayaking, bushcraft, hiking and practical skills, personally led by Johnny Coyne in the heart of Connemara.

The Adventure Club gives children and young people the chance to spend proper time outdoors, try new activities and build confidence in a relaxed, supportive setting. Led by Johnny Coyne, each programme can bring together kayaking, bushcraft, hiking, nature awareness and practical outdoor challenges. No two days are exactly the same, with activities shaped around the weather, the season and the group.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Adventure Club runs during selected school holidays and is designed to get participants away from screens, out into nature and learning through real experience.
Days may include guided kayaking on Lough Corrib, bushcraft, hiking, plant identification, team challenges and basic survival skills. Johnny keeps the sessions active and enjoyable while helping everyone learn how to move through the outdoors safely and responsibly.
There’s a plan behind each day, but there’s room for a bit of spontaneity too. If the weather changes or something interesting turns up along the way, the group may follow the adventure and see where it leads.
The aim isn’t to rush through as many activities as possible. It’s to help participants become more confident, curious and comfortable outdoors.
YOUR GUIDE
Every Adventure Club programme is personally led by Johnny Coyne, the founder of Lough Corrib Adventures.
Johnny is qualified across kayaking, bushcraft, sailing, powerboating and mountain leadership. He brings that experience into each session in a way that feels clear, encouraging and easy to follow.
He understands that some participants will arrive full of confidence while others may be trying these activities for the first time. Johnny will meet them where they are, give them the right support and encourage them to have a go without putting them under pressure.
Every programme is personally led by Johnny.
Activities are adapted around the age and confidence of the group.
