It’s a simple setting, but that’s the whole point. You’re away from the usual rush, with the lake beside you, the hills in the distance and nowhere you need to be for a while.

WHAT TO EXPECT

When you arrive at Cornamona Pier, you’ll have time to get changed and settle in before your sauna session begins.

Step inside, warm up and enjoy a bit of peace beside the lake. Between rounds, you can step outside for some fresh Connemara air or cool down with a dip in Lough Corrib, provided you’re comfortable doing so and the conditions are suitable.

There’s no pressure to get into the water. You can simply enjoy the sauna, take in the surroundings and go at your own pace.

Once you’re finished, Corrib Coffee is onsite for anyone who fancies a coffee or hot drink before heading away.

GOOD TO KNOW

ARRIVE A FEW MINUTES EARLY

Give yourself enough time to get changed and be ready before your session begins.

COLD-WATER DIPPING IS OPTIONAL

You don’t have to enter the lake to enjoy Sauna Cróga. Only take a dip when you feel comfortable and the conditions are suitable.

BRING YOUR OWN TOWEL

Bring a towel, swimwear, drinking water and warm clothes for afterwards.

GROUP BOOKINGS AVAILABLE

Get in touch with Johnny if you’d like to organise a private sauna session for a family, group of friends or team.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Swimwear

  • Towel

  • Drinking water

  • Sliders or suitable footwear

  • Warm clothes for afterwards

  • A second towel or changing robe, if preferred

  • Any personal medication you may need

USING THE SAUNA SAFELY

Drink plenty of water and take breaks whenever you need them. Sauna sessions and cold-water swimming can place additional strain on the body, so listen to how you’re feeling and don’t stay in longer than is comfortable.

Speak with your doctor before using the sauna or entering cold water if you are pregnant, have a heart or circulatory condition, take relevant medication or have any concerns about whether the experience is suitable for you.

Cold-water swimming is entirely optional and should only be undertaken when conditions are safe.

How small are the groups?

Kayaking groups can be as large as 32. We believe small groups make for better experiences, more wildlife sightings, more personal guidance, and less impact on the places we love.

“A Phenomenal experience.”
"Went for a kayaking tour this week with Johnny and it was amazing. He had so much knowledge about the area and had a really positive attitude which made the tour so enjoyable 🌞 we also went in his sauna afterwards- Sauna Cróga and a dip in the lake which was beautiful and a coffee from their truck Corrib Coffee. 1000/10 amazing experience, couldn’t recommend it enough 😊"
